This is a PROPER album. It tells a story without even needing the accompanying entries and paints a vivid, bleak picture of a surface of ice and biting winds. A true accomplishment of science-fiction soundscapes, and a worthy, atmospheric listen overall. baboonsandmoons
It begins beautiful, optimistic, hopeful. Then gradually, track-by-track, it descends into tension and horror. An absolutely fantastic album and another storytelling triumph from this artist! baboonsandmoons
Inspired by the dark history of the persecution of witches, these evocative experimental pieces are perfect for the spooky season. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 29, 2019
The backstory to this album (the Dyatlov incident in Russia in 1959) is fascinating. The music succeeds at creating a mood of mystery, but leaves the story to the listener's imagination. This album expects a lot from the listener, as long sections have wind noise and not much variation. But I keep coming back to it and listening again. It just works! mudshrimpmoe
